Who builds DolFin?

I'm Maxim Covtoniuc. I grew up in Odessa, Ukraine. At 17 I moved to Vienna to study. At 18 I was down to €50 for 20 days. I needed an app like this. It didn't exist, so I built it.

Today I work at a bank, in risk management. I started DolFin at 22, and I build it in the evenings.

Why DolFin

I struggled with budgeting myself. Most budget apps want your bank login, or they make you type in every coffee. I wanted an app that does the looking for me.

So DolFin reads the bank statement you download, as a PDF or a CSV file. Then it finds the payments that come back each month, like subscriptions, bills and fees. There's no bank login, and there isn't even a field for one.

How we make our guides

Our guides are written with the help of AI. I read and approve every page before it goes live. What we say about other apps comes from their own websites and App Store pages, and each page says when we checked it.
